Second Skin Camo

Aftercare

What to expect

Following the procedure, expect the treated area to appear red and inflamed initially. Within the next day or two, the inflammation will subside, though redness may persist for about a week before transitioning to a dark brown colour. Increased cell turnover from needling may cause the skin to feel slightly dry and develop a crusty texture during this period. Itchiness is also common during this stage of the healing. Serum provided helps with the itching. It is important to keep the area moisturized. The brown will get lighter as skin heals. The lightening process varies client to client.

  1.  Leave wrap on for 4 hours.
  2. Make sure all clothes that touch your skin are clean. Sleep in clean sheets. You have open wounds that can take up to 48 hours to close. You do not want to get bacteria in.
  3.  Wash hands with soap and put on serum after 24-48 hours. Keep using the serum 2/3 times a day until finished.
  4.  You can shower after 24 hours. Do not use really hot water, lukewarm is preferred. No shampoo.
  5.  Use unscented soap. Do not lather it on the treated areas. Use it on the rest of your body and leave the treated areas alone.

  12.  Do not scrub or scratch areas. Treated areas will scab over, peel, darken and then lighten up. This is all NORMAL! Please be patient. Clients find massaging the serum lightly helps with the itching. DO NOT PICK at the scabs.
  13.  Keep treated area out of the sun and tanning beds for 8 weeks or until healed.
  14.  If tender, you can take a Tylenol after the treatment, Advil is NOT recommended.

  16. When leaving the appointment, it is recommended to have a snack. Your body uses up a lot of energy during the treatment and refuelling is recommended.
  17.  Although rare, excessive swelling or allergic reaction may occur. If excessive swelling occurs, you should consult your doctor. If any allergic reaction causes difficulty breathing and/or swelling, call 911 or go to the Emergency room immediately.
